Paul Henry and Invivo are releasing a new limited edition Central Otago Pinot Noir this Friday, 6 November , available exclusively at Glengarry stores and online, and available to order now.
The wine has just received its first accolade: 93 points, 5 stars from Wine Orbit: “Youthfully charming and delightfully inviting, the wine shows Black Doris plum, sweet cherry, floral, almond and subtle spice aromas on the nose, leading to a succulent palate delivering terrific fruit purity and persistency. It’s silky and flowing to a lengthy delectable finish. At its best: now to 2025.”
A blend of Pinot Noir from Northburn, Bannockburn and Gibbston vineyards in Central Otago, the result of Paul’s third spell at the blending bench is a wine that punches well above its recommended retail price of $30. Punchy dark fruits, confected cherries and espresso roast lead to a deep palate full of sweet fruit, expansive mouthfeel, youthful tannins, juiciness and a long finish.
In Paul’s words, the “The final result must be more than the sum total of its parts… and it is. The individual parts are magnificent. Together they sing.”
Glengarry is expecting demand for Paul Henry’s Pinot Noir V3 to be great after his first Pinot sold out within three hours of going on sale in 2016; the fine wine retailer’s server crashed shortly after the wine went on sale due to demand. The 2017 vintage was also extremely popular and didn’t last long.
Paul will be tasting in-store and signing bottles at Glengarry Victoria Park on Friday 6 November from 3.30pm – 5pm. He will also be tasting in-store at other Glengarry stores in Auckland and in Wellington in December.
Pre-order Paul’s Pinot Noir V3 online now here www.glengarrywines.co.nz/paulhenrypinot. Only 140 cases were made and so this wine will not be available at Invivo’s Online Store.
