Matthew Broderick makes a cameo appearance & SJP attempts a Kiwi accent
Following the success of our first vintage of the Invivo X, SJP Sauvignon Blanc, Sarah Jessica Parker, Tim and Rob have made their 2020 second release together virtually, and it’s coming to a store near you soon. Watch it here.
In what is believed to be the world’s first virtual winemaking session, New York-based Sarah Jessica dialed-in Tim and Rob from our winery in Te Kauwhata to create and sign off the latest blend, over a two-hour Zoom call.
Invivo couriered six wine samples to Sarah Jessica, taken from the harvest in March this year. Samples of Sauvignon Blanc from various Marlborough estates were taken from tank by winemaker Rob and shipped to Sarah Jessica’s NYC home, along with wine-blending equipment.
The blending, tasting and adjusting followed the same process that wineries follow, but with the guidance of SJP and overseen by Rob. This virtual winemaking session shines light into the partnership between SJP and the guys, and reveals more about Sarah Jessica’s evolving winemaking style and palate.
“As always, time with Tim and Rob is a delight. They continue to teach, share their talent and knowledge, and guide me toward better understanding of the privileged world of winemaking,” says Sarah Jessica.
Rob says “We hit a great style with the 2019 Sauvignon Blanc so we felt there were some big shoes to fill with the 2020 wine, especially given this year’s vintage was so different to last year’s. That said, I was really impressed with how Sarah Jessica’s focus was always on trying to create the very best of what we had to work with, rigorously testing each blend option to ensure we were producing our ‘A’ game. The 2020 is going to be a treat.”
The first vintage in 2019 became an instant hit and has sold over 400,000 bottles globally. It has also won a whole host of awards, including six GOLDs. Read more about the 2019 Sav and its accolades here.
Earlier this year Invivo X, Sarah Jessica Parker Rosé also launched. The Rosé comes from the South of France and has been crafted in partnership with Sarah Jessica, Invivo and a family estate in Provence. It has just won SILVER at the International Rosé championships and has been awarded 5* by Wine Orbit.

The 2020 Invivo X, SJP Sauvignon Blanc will be in stores around the world soon – in the USA, New Zealand, UK, Ireland, Canada, Japan, Australia and Taiwan. The 2019 vintage is still available in NZ in New World, Countdown and Glengarry.
