Invivo Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Intense, bold guava and florals on the nose with a lime edged citrus vein running between them. The 2013 Invivo Sauvignon Blanc is hallmarked by a fine interweaving of herbal minty Awatere stones and tropical warmer flavours.

The finish is extremely long with continuing echoes of passion fruit and green capsicum. This intense wine has great presence in the mouth and lingers long.

Reviews

"The 2013 Sauvignon Blanc shows attractive lemon-lime character on the nose with a gentle undercurrent of fresh grass and bay leaves. Light-bodied with nice balance and relatively elegant expression, it has a lively line of acid carrying the citrus flavors to a long finish. Drink it now to 2015+" 88 Points

"Youthful and delightful, the inviting bouquet shows peach, passionfruit, lime zest and herbaceous characters. The palate is equally appealing with excellent fruit richness backed by crisp acidity”

“Loaded with tropical honeyed characters, this is a bright, floral, expressive wine, according to judge Simon Fell. “It has nice fresh herbs and good balance,” he added. Jo Burzynska agreed, adding that along with good palate weight, this wine also shows youthful elderflower and melon note” 4 Stars

“Beautifully crafted, superior New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, lightly grassy, infused with passionfruit. Mouth-watering and more delicate than some."
Susy Atkins, Sunday Telegraph UK
“Medium-bodied style with strong, vibrant passionfruit and lime flavours to the fore, a herbal undercurrent, appetising acidity, good drive through the palate and a lengthy finish.”
Winestate Magazine
"Delightful sweaty, tropical and herbaceous notes to the aroma. Intense, tingly and crisp with an attractive taut, steely note. The crisp, refreshing palate is intense with rich, juicy fruit. Gooseberry and citrus on the mid-palate underpinned by some ripe melon notes. A zingy, zesty wine with plenty of length and a nicely defined finish. Quite simply very good wine."
Marlborough Express
“A gooseberry, lemon and apple-scented wine with much green, grassy inspiration. Savoury and stoney, too, the palate has good length and concentration. 'Texture; this is classy, elegant and great value,' said Roger Jones of The Harrow at Little Bedwyn, suggesting oysters with chilli as a match”
2014 Sommelier Wine Awards

Winemaking

The fruit was harvested at night, de-stemmed and crushed then cold settled for 48 hours. Clear juice was racked and solids vacuum filtered back to the free run. A number of yeasts were used to help create a spectrum of aroma’s and texture with average fermentation lasting around 3 weeks. The tanks were then topped up and stirred (battonage) without sulphur for 10-12 weeks. After the wine had gained some lees texture it was lightly fined with Casein and Isinglass and stabilized for bottling.

Harvest date: 24 April - 2 May 2013
