Invivo Central Otago Pinot Noir 2014

Deep ruby red with a dense purple hue. Very ripe and perfumed nose with dark cherries and plums with an earthy, complex oak backbone. Palate is instantly mouth-filling with a solid core of sweet cherries and hint of toast. Silky tannis help complete the palate and the finish is long and sweet. This wine is instantly appealing and varietal and will also reward cellaring.

Reviews

"It is instantly appealing on the nose displaying red/black cherry, clove, vanilla and cedar characters with nuances of game and floral. The palate is beautifully weighted and richly textured, and delivers loads of delectable flavours, wonderfully framed by polished tannins. The wine offers elegant opulent together with subtle savoury complexity. At its best: now to 2019."
Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
"The 2014 vintage was grown at several sites, in the Cromwell Basin and Gibbston, and oak-aged. Full-coloured, it is mouthfilling, with concentrated cherry, plum and spice flavours. Sweet-fruited, with finely balanced tannins and considerable complexity, it's drinking well now. Good value."

Winemaking

The 2014 Invivo Pinot noir draws its power from vineyards in Bannockburn and Northburn, its elegance from vineyards in the Gibbston Valley and its beautiful bright cherry fruit from steppes of Lowburn. With all our wines we try and work with sub-regions with defined and strong personalities, the trick is to get them to come together and create something magical! In 2014 the vintage conditions allowed us to celebrate each parcel but also bring them together harmoniously to create a delicious, alluring Pinot noir with Power, depth and finesse. Enjoy now or hide away from yourself and you will be rewarded over the next 10 years…
