Graham loves his Invivo Sauvignon Blanc so much that he agreed to get his feet dirty and help us make some! We wanted to make something special with Graham to thank him for his support over the years. But he’s in such hot demand there was no way we could get him down to the vineyard... So instead, Invivo took the vineyard to him.

“Bright, very pale straw colour, lighter on rim. This has a full, voluminous nose with softly aromatic and pungent passionfruit and minerally notes, lifted with exotic florals and esters. Dry to taste, harmoniously melded flavours of passionfruit, tropical fruits and florals flow smoothly on a soft-textured palate. The acidity is integral, providing a gentle, mouthwatering freshness and liveliness. The wine opens out and fills the palate with layers of pungent fruit, herbs and minerals, and carries through to a long, sustained, dry finish. This is a soft and harmonious, mouth-filling and gently thirst-quenching, passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc.”

"Made by Invivo from grapes grown in Marlborough's Wairau Valley with a portion crushed by Graham Norton's feet, live on his show. Fresh and rambunctious, just like its jolly ebullient namesake complete with English gooseberry twang, this quenching vibrant grassy number combines summer herbs with a twist of lemon and a mouth-coating oily texture and a lingering taste that becomes quite creamy. Terrific and ever so deliciously more-ish when chasing down pre-dinner nibbles of herb flavoured rice crackers topped with a slice of fresh tomato, a slice of goats cheese (or not), and the last of the home grown summer basil."

Winemaking

The fruit was harvested at night, de-stemmed and crushed then cold settled for 48 hours. Clear juice was racked and solids vacuum filtered back to the free run. A number of yeasts were used to help create a spectrum of aroma’s and texture with average fermentation lasting around 3 weeks. The tanks were then topped up and stirred (battonage) without sulphur for 10-12 weeks. After the wine had gained some lees texture it was lightly fined with Casein and Isinglass and stabilized for bottling.
